A Bit About Us

Hey Y’all,

We’re Alexa and Jacob, two college athletes who continue to fall in love with Jesus, community and a really good cup of coffee. The idea behind Be Still Coffee Co. started with something simple: I’ve always loved the way coffee slows people down. It creates space to talk, to connect, to breathe. Somewhere along the way, the phrase “be still” kept weaving itself into my life—on a mug I once gifted, on a bookmark I received the day after we chose our name, and in the quiet reminder of Psalm 46:10, “Be still and know that I am God.” Then I discovered what it means Biblically.

“Be Still” has a Hebrew term called “raphah”, taken from Psalm 46. It means to let go and release your grip. It doesn’t mean to be quiet or shut down. I learned something pivotal in that real peace doesn’t depend on circumstances or outcomes, it happens when you choose trust over control.

Only later did we realize… we’re launching in Stillwater, Oklahoma! Be still, Stillwater. Gotta love it.

Jacob and I actually met on a mission trip to South Africa, funded through the University of Oklahoma athletics department, though we had shared the same study hall hours in college without ever crossing paths. God clearly had better timing. While in Africa 3 years ago, we served at an orphanage for abandoned children. To this day, we’re still connected with them and our hope is that Be Still Coffee Cart can help us continue to give and support generously to them.

Now, we’re bringing that same heart to Stillwater…VERY SOON. We’re almost ready to serve up coffee, conversation and a place to be still in the midst of a chaotic, ever-evolving life.
